Greetings
and Welcome! My name is Laszlo Sipos. I was born in 1971 in the picturesque
town of Sarospatak, Hungary on the continent of Europe. Currently my family
and I reside in Budapest. I’ve had the pleasure to cultivate my two passions
since childhood - painting and scuba diving. Although I’ve never received
formal education in either painting or drawing, I’ve had the privilege to
participate in several exhibitions where my works were judged worthy of
awards. The initial experimentation began with graphics and eventually the
experiences were transferred into oil around 1999. It was not until 2003
that my serious work began. Interestingly, it was also in the same year I
received my credentials as a CMAS scuba diving instructor. Unfortunately, I
no longer have an occasion to use this because my time is totally dedicated
to painting. Diving is still part of my life as the theme of most of my work.
The pictures depict my underwater experiences in a somewhat surrealistic
fashion. This, no doubt, is due to the fact that I am an admirer of the
works of, and likely influenced by, Rene Magritte and Salvador Dali.
Although I’ve painted a broad range of themes and styles for special order
projects, my own style remains the somewhat surrealistic underwater life.
Most of my paintings are parts of private collections. |
